Win for e2vs Stuart Parker at British Superkart GP

e2v sponsored Superkart driver, Stuart Parker, drove to a win in the British Superkart GP at Cadwell Park.

Saturday 19th July was qualifying day and also a round of the British championship, which saw Stuart, an employee at e2v’s Lincoln site, take part in the National Series and then transfer to the European class on Sunday for the finals.

Stuart qualified in third place for the first of two qualifying rounds and claimed third place in race one.  Race two saw Stuart get away to good start but, after his kart developed a misfire, he dropped back to sixth and a last lap manoeuvre saw him spin and fall back to complete the race in eighth position.  These results gave Stuart an overall race position of fifth, leaving him fifth in the championship standings.

Sunday saw Stuart change classes and having to start the European qualifying race from the back of the grid. His team advised him that he had to get through the pack if he were to stand any chance of making the final, and with this in mind, he drove the race of his life to power through the pack and take the lead, which he held to the chequered flag.

As the final got underway Stuart dropped back to second but managed to regain the lead and build up a healthy advantage over the field, which he maintained to the end of the race to take the win from Roy Panmann (Holland) with Eddie Kooiker (GB) in third place.  Stuart said “I was so pleased to win, not only because Cadwell is my local track, but this is possibly the biggest karting event on the race calendar. I would like to thank my team and my sponsors, especially e2v and KPPMS.”

The next round is on the 10th August at Donington Park.
