Early registration customers offered privileged access to samples of e2v’s next generation Digital-to-Analog Converter

Today, e2v is announcing the planned launch of its next generation of microwave capable Digital-to-Analog Converters (DACs) and offering customers who register their interest early, privileged access to samples, measurement packs and evaluation tools in advance of the official product launch.

Manufacturers of automated test equipment are regularly confronted with the challenge of designing software defined signal generators which give superior performance when compared to the device under test. Also testers of memory ICs and serial links, need to generate stimulus signals with a complex variety of rise and fall time edges, with different voltage levels for low and high states. This also applies to testers of any hardware with the latest USB, PCIXpress and other data transfer protocols.

e2v’s new EV12DS400 DAC extends performance by multiplying the sampling frequency by a factor of 1.5 (compared with e2v’s previous EV12DS130 DAC) at speeds of up to 4.5GSPS.  This new product will also (for the first time on a DAC), introduce mathematical simulation models to ease the work of multi-Nyquist frequency planning. Strengthening further the DAC microwave capability, the output bandwidth of EV12DS400 is aimed well into the C-band area with up to 8GHz and offers new waveform features to open new and unprecedented possibilities to adjust DAC output power vs output frequency.

Richard Gibbs, President of e2v’s High-reliability Semiconductor Solutions Division commented, “We are regularly trying to drive the limits of performance by simplifying RF signal chains and strengthening DAC microwave capabilities. The new EV12DS400 encompasses all these qualities, pushing the boundaries to further extend test capabilities. We encourage customers to sign up to this early registration so as not to miss out on this great opportunity.”

e2v will be running a live demonstration at Electronica 2014. So come and meet the team in Hall A5 at Stand 280.
