e2v wins third Regional Growth Fund award

e2v, the designer and developer of innovative solutions for high performance systems, has announced that it has been awarded a grant of £2.9m from Round 4 of the Regional Growth Fund (RGF), administered by the UK Department for Business Innovation and Skills (BIS).

The project is expected to last 5 years and is part of an overall investment of £9m. It will enable e2v to further develop its business in the radiotherapy marketplace, developing and establishing manufacturing and test processes as a part of its strategic plan to move from the supply of components into RF sub-systems and services, in partnership with key customers.

e2v was successful in rounds 1 and 3 of the RGF awards, for microwave generator development and space imaging technology and service development, receiving a total of £10m.

The Regional Growth Fund is a £2.6 billion fund operating across England from 2011 to 2016. It supports projects and programmes that are using private sector investment to create economic growth and sustainable employment.

Keith Attwood CEO of e2v commented, “This grant is a key contributor to the delivery of our strategic plan. We will be working with our OEM partners to accelerate the development of class leading radiotherapy sub-systems around our core RF Power capability, which will help secure high value UK jobs. ”
