e2v selects Electroglas EG6000 300mm Wafer Prober

e2v, a leading designer, developer and manufacturer of specialised components and subsystems and Electroglas Inc., a leading supplier of wafer probing solutions for the semiconductor industry, today announced that e2v has purchased an Electroglas EG6000 300mm wafer prober for their production wafer test facility in Grenoble, France.

The EG6000 will allow e2v to test wafers up to 300mm diameter, with a temperature range from -55° to 200°, and was purchased as part of e2v’s continuous process improvement policy.  It was easily integrated into e2v’s high volume specialist semiconductor production test environment.

“The EG6000 responds to the high performance requirements of our multi-product testing environment. Thanks to its low vibration operation, thermal agility, and Z precision features it has exceptional contact resistance stability (CRES), and so enhances our product yield.” commented Philippe Sandri Test Maintenance Manager at e2v.

Tom Rohrs, Chairman and CEO of Electroglas said:  “e2v is a current 150-200mm wafer test partner of Electroglas. They use both our 4090u+ and Test Floor Management Software in their facilities and are now aggressively pushing into 300mm state-of-the-art high volume, high efficiency, integrated circuit assembly and test.  We are very pleased that e2v has selected the EG6000 as their first source for 300mm wafer probing and I look forward to a long and fruitful relationship between our companies.”

“We are pleased to continue our partnership with Electroglas. This new EG6000 enables us to increase capacity available to both our internal and external customers” added Gérard Borel Director, Industrial Operations Group, at e2v.
