e2v releases the PC8349/E PowerQUICC II Pro Integrated Host Processor for extended reliability applications

e2v, a leading designer and manufacturer of specialised electronic components, announced today the availability of their PC8349/E extended-reliability version of the MPC8349E 32-bit PowerQUICC II Core Processor from Freescale for aerospace and defence applications.

The PC8349/E PowerQUICC II Integrated Host processor incorporates an embedded PowerPC e300 Processor core, operating at up to 667 MHz for demanding extended-reliability environments including networking, storage, communications and computation-intensive applications operating from -55°C to 125°C and is the next level in extended-reliability processor performance from e2v based on their successful partnership with Freescale semiconductor.

“This microcontroller applies the combined expertise of e2v and Freescale Semiconductor," said Eric Marcelot, e2v’s hi-rel microprocessor marketing manager, adding "by coupling Freescale’s e300 cores with DDR memory, Dual Gigabit Ethernet, Dual PCI and Hi-speed USB controllers with e2v’s development and manufacture of extended-reliability IC products, customers can obtain reliable high performance for the long haul.”

The PC8349/E PowerQUICC IIPro Integrated Host processor family is based on a system-on-chip (SoC) architecture and is manufactured on Freescale semiconductor 130nm CMOS process technology and is now available in an extended-temperature range (-55°C to +125°C) in TBGA 672 pin package from e2v.
