e2v releases the P2020 QorIQ integrated communications processor for extended-reliability applications

e2v, the leading hi-rel semiconductor solutions provider, has announced the availability of their P2020 extended-reliability version of Freescale’s P2020 QorIQintegrated processor, for high performance power-sensitive applications in aerospace, defence and demanding outdoor environments.

The P2020 integrated communications processor incorporates Dual Power Architecturee500 processor cores, operating at up to 1.2 GHz for extended-reliability environments including communications, networking and computation-intensive applications operating over temperatures from -55°C to 125°C, and offers the next level in extended-reliability processor performance from e2v based on their successful partnership with Freescale Semiconductor.

“This Dual e500 core integrated control processor provides an impressive performance to power ratio incorporating the e500 Power Architecturecore, 512Kbyte L2 cache and a rich set of interfaces including SerDes, Gigabit Ethernet, PCI-Express, RapidIO®as well as being fully software compatible with existing PowerQUICC®processors” said Eric Marcelot, e2v’s Hi-Rel Semiconductor Solutions Marketing Manager, adding “this latest product demonstrates our commitment to working in partnership with Freescale to offer high performance versions of their microprocessors for a wide-range of extended-reliability applications where performance is measured in severe operating conditions”

The P2020 QorIQIntegrated Communications processor family is manufactured on Freescale Semiconductor low-power 45nm CMOS process technology and are now available in an extended-temperature range (-55°C to +125°C) in TePBGA2 689 pin package from e2v.
