e2v achieves Gold in Business in the Community’s 10th Corporate Responsibility Index

Business in the Community (BiTC), the largest national business-led partnership dedicated to corporate responsibility, has released its full corporate responsibility index listing for 2012, with e2v confirmed as a Gold award winner for its global activities.

e2v achieved a Gold standard with a score of 89.45%, scoring 100% on community management, which exceeds the benchmark figure of 93.1%. They scored 96% on their marketplace management, demonstrating e2v’s continuing focus on the social needs of the community. Also e2v obtained 98.1% for their environmental management, displaying responsible business practice as a major part of e2v’s daily business activities.

BiTC uses four key pillars to measure the CR score; workplace, environment, community and marketplace. e2v was scored on its equality and diversity, as well as on how they work with local communities from the charitable donations and activities of the business. e2v was compared with similar companies such as Rolls-Royce and Siemens on how they work with their customers and suppliers in the workplace, their carbon footprint and recycling programmes.

Stephen Howard, Chief Executive, Business in the Community said: “I congratulate e2v on achieving Gold in the 2012 BITC Corporate Responsibility Index. The CR Index has helped to highlight clearly those best practice examples that bring to life in a powerful way what integrated responsible practice really looks like. As we celebrate 10 years of our CR Index it has given me great pleasure to witness each company’s responsible business journey and the transformations they are making both within their businesses and the impact they have in our communities”.
